Senior Collection

Fish and water represent good fortune, prosperity, and abundance in the ancient Chinese practice of Feng Shui. The energy forces received from “wind and water” harmonize individuals with their surrounding environment. Among the many symbols in this practice, Goldfish represent prosperity because of their gold color. Its importance prevails today, attracting thousands of people to the Fish Market in Hong Kong to bring good fortune into their lives. However, the way the fish are kept in plastic bags and the way they are artificially manipulated to achieve a desired color, makes us question if, in reality, those are Cruel Intentions.

This collection was inspired by the work of Japanese photographer Mika Ninagawa in her 2003 exhibition Liquid Dreams.
